  1. To get a Nanny job that first interview impressions are important to always arrive with a smile 10 minutes before

  • Be seen in interview to be organised with a reference display folder, neatly dressed and calm

  • Say hello gently and engage pleasantly with the Child (ren) – ask about their favourite toy, board game or hobby

  1. To keep a Nanny job to gain a good leaving reference to next job justify ask for a higher next level per hour rate:

  • Be reliable and arrive with a smile punctually with rare sick days off as a Employer will not have back up Childcare

  • Do agreed Child related housekeeping duties – link to list of these duties

  • Do daily Child age appropriate educational craft and project activities that each week the Child gives as evidence of to their parent as a gift link to low cost activities and local outing ideas

  • Follow the parents local outing requests and ask permission to do anything else such as meet another Nanny

  • Daily set the Child (ren) a good example in our personal hygiene, grooming, spoken English, manners and appropriate work dress - a parent as influence their Child may ask if you can daily hide a visible tattoo or take out nose stud

  • Listen and respect an Employers view and do not be over familiar with

A Nanny must be honest, trusted and able to ensure the safety and happiness of the Child (ren), family key and home security and in the 21st Century keep confidential all family (Employer) business e.g. no talk or their Child photo without permission on social media.
